Lanarkshire Aesthetics recently emerged victorious at the Aesthetic Training Academy 2024 during the Scottish Aesthetic Awards 2024. The competition was fierce, with the most prestigious training academies in Scotland participating.
The training academy is spearheaded by esteemed trainers, Lorraine Bowman and Hayley McDonald. Lorraine boasts 20 years of experience as an aesthetics practitioner and 15 years as an aesthetic trainer. She has a background as a nurse, midwife, and lecturer. On the other hand, Hayley’s expertise lies in ENT, max fax facial surgery, and community nursing. With 10 years of experience as an aesthetic practitioner and 8 years as a trainer, Hayley brings a wealth of knowledge to our academy. Lorraine, the founder of LAB, has trained over 2000 doctors, nurses, and dentists in her extensive career. She has collaborated with various training academies in Scotland, Manchester, Newcastle, and London. Now, she focuses solely on her own training academy in Scotland.

Lorraine creates all the teaching materials for our courses, constantly adapting the content to meet students’ learning requirements and the evolving field of aesthetics. Upon joining the training academy, you will gain access to the LAB online learning platform, where you will complete modules before commencing your practical training.
Extra info
If you decide to book a place on our course, we will send you our teaching material prior to the course to help prepare you for the theory day and prior to your practical training sessions where you will administer wrinkle and filler treatments. Legislation which has been passed by the GMC which states a prescriber must be present on the first consultation, therefore if you are a non-independent prescriber you can carry out the consultation. If you are not a prescriber you will need a doctor or nurse prescriber. We can provide this service for you.
Our training in offered in small numbers, in a friendly and relaxed environment. On completion of our course you will have gained enough knowledge and confidence to begin your aesthetic journey. You will also have access to ongoing professional advice.
We do offer further mentoring, in addition to your extra second practical session. If this is something you would be interested in we can discuss this after your initial training.
